Who should apply?
The Questbridge program accepts all applicants who are U.S. citizens or Permanent Residents, in addition to international students attending high school in the U.S. regardless of citizen. Only certain partner schools will consider non-U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents for admission and full scholarships through the College Match, so be sure to check the requirements of each school on the Questbridge website if this is your situation.

Although anyone can apply to Questbridge, finalists are typically low-income (defined as less than $65,000 annually for a family of four, with a number of additional factors taken into account) and have demonstrated academic excellence through their class rank, standardized test scores, and the rigor of their courses in relation to the overall rigor of the courses offered at their high school. Questbridge also looks for students who are able to express themselves clearly and compellingly through their responses to a series of essay questions.
How to Apply and Next Steps for Finalists?
The Questbridge application requires a number of materials including teacher recommendations, a report from the student’s high school counselor, transcripts and standardized test scores, and responses to various short and long essay questions. You’ll also need to provide financial information, so you may find it helpful to have tax information and related documents on hand.

If selected as a finalist, you will need to submit additional financial documentation to the college including the FAFSA and, if applicable, the CSS Profile — we recommend completing these as soon as possible after they open on October 1. For more information on financial aid, please review our previous post.
You will also need to complete all supplemental questions and essays for the partner colleges individually. Questbridge finalists are notified of their status in the middle of October, and applications to partner colleges are due November 1, so it is in your best interest to begin your applications BEFORE Questbridge finalist determinations are made in order to avoid a last-minute scramble.
